Youth Athletics: Nigeria claims top spots in U18, U20 100m races

It was a golden outing for Nigeria at the ongoing Youth Athletics Championship as the country asserted its dominance on the track, sweeping all medals in the U18 women’s 100m final and securing top honours in the U20 category.
In the U18 women’s 100m final, Ezechukwu Miracle raced to victory with a time of 11.88 seconds, claiming the gold medal. She was trailed by fellow Nigerian, Nwokwo Rosemary, who finished in 11.96 seconds to grab silver.
Jegede Mariam completed the Nigerian clean sweep with a bronze medal finish in 12.20 seconds.
The winning streak continued in the U20 women’s 100m event, where Nweke Chioma clinched gold, crossing the line in 11.66 seconds.
Her teammate, Oyibo Success Oghene, came in second with a time of 11.78 seconds to secure silver.

Côte d’Ivoire’s Lou Yonan narrowly edged out a Nigerian sweep by taking bronze in 11.87 seconds.
In the men’s U20 100m final, Nigeria added to its tally with a bronze medal, further underlining the country’s strong presence in the sprint events.
