Victor Osimhen’s Galatasaray transfer sets new club record

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has officially completed a permanent switch to Turkish giants Galatasaray in a four-year deal worth €75 million (approximately $87.5 million), making him the most expensive signing in the club’s history.
Osimhen, who was a standout performer during his loan spell last season, scored 26 goals in 30 league appearances, helping Galatasaray clinch their 25th Turkish Super Lig title.
His move was confirmed on Thursday after weeks of negotiations that had previously stalled due to payment terms.
The 26-year-old was notably absent from Napoli’s preseason training earlier in the week as final discussions progressed.
Despite being instrumental in Napoli’s historic Serie A title win in 2023, new manager Antonio Conte appeared to have no place for Osimhen in his plans for the upcoming campaign.
