In a bid to strengthen its collaboration with the media, Transcorp Hilton Abuja paid a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council on Friday, August 1, 2025.

The delegation, led by the hotel’s Commercial Director, Betty Aguiyi-Ironsi, and E-Commerce Manager, Ijeoma Osuji, both pioneers as the first women to occupy their roles, expressed gratitude for the cordial relationship between the hotel and the union.

NUJ-FCT Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike, described the visit as timely and commendable, applauding the women-led delegation and Transcorp Hilton’s long-standing support for the media.

She thanked the hotel for hosting the NUJ-FCT 2025 Press Week Public Lecture and praised its role as a development-driven media partner.

“Transcorp Hilton is renowned for its hospitality, and we look forward to more collaborations,” she said.

“We also hope to see the revival of the annual cocktail party that brings journalists and senior editors together after a long work year.”

Aguiyi-Ironsi explained that the visit was aimed at reaffirming the hotel’s commitment to a mutually beneficial relationship with the NUJ-FCT, acknowledging the media’s role in national development.

“We are simply here to appreciate the media and pledge to continue our strategic relationship with the NUJ-FCT. Your publicity and support in giving us visibility are deeply valued,” she stated.

Ijeoma Osuji echoed the appreciation, noting that the media’s support has been instrumental in maintaining the hotel’s relevance.

“We recognise the NUJ-FCT Council and all media partners as vital to our success,” she said.

Transcorp Hilton Abuja has received multiple recognitions, including the NUJ-FCT Hospitality Award, for its excellence in travel and tourism.

Members of the NUJ-FCT Executive Council present at the event included Vice Chairman Comrade Yahaya Ndambabo, Secretary Comrade Jide Oyekunle, Assistant Secretary Sharon Emephia, Treasurer Comrade Sandra Udeike, Financial Secretary Comrade Henry Daniel Abimiku, and Internal Auditor Comrade Rosemary Ukoko-Tega.
