Social Media pressure made me rethink Priscilla’s baby shower – Iyabo Ojo

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Iyabo Ojo has shared her initial reservations about holding a baby shower for her daughter, Priscilla.

Speaking during the celebration in Canada, the proud mother explained that her hesitation stemmed from a desire to avoid drawing further media attention.

Iyabo revealed that after months of back-to-back events, including a lengthy wedding ceremony earlier in the year, she was not keen on adding more to the spotlight.

“Aunty Lola told me she wants to do a baby shower for Priscilla’s child. I was like, ‘We’ve been doing so much since February, the wedding was long,’” she said.

She admitted that she initially declined the idea, citing concerns about the growing scrutiny on social media.

“Because of the social media wahala, I didn’t want it at first,” Iyabo added.

However, she noted that the involvement of a close family friend, Aunt Lola, who insisted on organizing the shower, made it hard for her to say no.

“Aunt Lola is like a special aunty that I can never say no to,” she explained.
