President Tinubu nominates Abdullahi Ramat as NERC CEO

President Bola Tinubu has named Abdullahi Garba Ramat as the new chairman and chief executive officer of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Daily Watch Nigeria reports.
The announcement was made on Thursday by Bayo Onanuga, the president’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy. Ramat, who previously served as chairman of Ungogo Local Government Area in Kano State from 2021 to 2024, will hold the NERC position in an acting capacity pending confirmation by the Senate.

Alongside Ramat’s appointment, President Tinubu also approved the appointment of Abubakar Yusuf as the commissioner for consumer affairs and Fouad Olayinka Animashun as commissioner for finance and management services at NERC.
