The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, in partnership with the China Cultural Centre, has announced that the 7th edition of the Nigeria–China Friendship Table Tennis Tournament will take place on November 15, 2025.
This was made known during a courtesy visit by the NUJ FCT Council Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike, and her executive members to the China Cultural Centre in Abuja.
They were received by the Director of the Centre and Cultural Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy, Mr Yang Jianxing, and other senior staff.
Comrade Ike expressed appreciation for the Centre’s consistent support over the years and emphasised the need to deepen cultural exchange and training opportunities for journalists, noting that such collaborations enhance national development and bilateral relations.

Mr Yang also responded to the request for journalist training in China, promising to discuss possibilities with the Chinese Embassy to secure at least one or two training slots for NUJ FCT members.
Describing Nigeria and China as “brothers and family,” he applauded the role of the media in building mutual understanding between both nations, saying, “Through your work, people in China learn more about Nigeria, and vice versa.”
