No Room for indiscipline under my watch – David Mark declares at ADC NEC meeting

Senator David Mark, the Interim National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has assured party members that his leadership will be rooted in integrity, discipline, and transparent democratic principles.
Speaking at the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja, Mark said the party under his watch will not entertain any form of candidate imposition, anti-party conduct, or internal indiscipline.
He promised to serve with courage, vision, and accountability, while commending the efforts of the outgoing National Chairman, Chief Ralph Nwosu, for his years of sacrifice in building the party.

Mark praised Nwosu for relinquishing the party’s leadership in the interest of Nigeria’s democratic future.
According to the former Senate President, “We shall be committed to full democratic practices and principles that abhor imposition and special privileges.”
“Internal democracy, transparency, and accountability will be our mantra.”
He also pledged to establish collective leadership, build a competent party structure, and implement a funding system that gives all members a sense of ownership.
Mark assured that women and youth would have meaningful roles in the party’s structure, not just symbolic slots.
He said 35 percent of leadership positions would be reserved for women, and individuals under 40 years old would be actively involved in leadership.
He further revealed plans to set up committees to review the party’s manifesto and constitution to align with Nigerians’ expectations and promote a clearly defined ideology, progressive policies, and governance driven by patriotism.
“We will not leave it to the discretion of individual candidates to choose what to do with power,” he added.
As part of efforts to drive policy innovation, Mark announced that the ADC would soon unveil a 50-member policy team focused on sectors like health, education, security, technology, infrastructure, economy, and agriculture.
He encouraged Nigerians to join the ADC, which he described as the only party offering equal opportunities to all, regardless of age, gender, religion, or region.
He also charged members to return to their grassroots, polling units and wards to revive the party structure from the bottom up.
In his remarks, Chief Ralph Nwosu described the ADC’s transformation under the new leadership as historic.
He noted that the party, once considered small, had become a political force. Nwosu said the ADC’s membership base surged to nearly three million within a week of announcing the coalition under Mark, with website traffic so intense that it crashed three times.
He added that some states had demanded at least two million membership cards due to growing interest, especially from the youth.
Nwosu urged institutions like the judiciary and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to stay true to their democratic obligations.
