INEC to kick off nationwide voter registration August 18
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the 2025 Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise will officially kick off across the country on August 18.
In a statement posted on its official X handle on Friday, the electoral body said online pre-registration will open on the same day through its portal: cvr.inecnigeria.org.
INEC further disclosed that physical, in-person registration will commence a week later, on August 25, at all its local government offices and designated centres nationwide.
The commission added that the exercise will run from Monday to Friday, starting at 9 a.m. and closing by 3 p.m. daily.
“Your votes start with registration. Don’t miss your opportunity to register,” the commission urged Nigerians.
