Gunmen abduct Nasarawa Information Ministry boss from home

Unknown gunmen have abducted the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Information, Tourism and Culture in Nasarawa State, Barrister Yusuf Musa, from his residence in the Shinge area of Lafia, the state capital.
Reports indicate the assailants trailed the government official and kidnapped him just as he was about to open the gate to his house.
According to a neighbour, alarm was raised later that night when it was noticed that his car was still parked outside and his gate left wide open.
A search within the premises proved futile, and all attempts to reach him through his mobile phone and associates failed.
Confirming the incident, the Nasarawa State Police Command disclosed that at about 3:00 am on Tuesday, a patrol team from B Division, Lafia, discovered a Peugeot pick-up van abandoned with its doors left wide open in a suspicious manner.
Officers later observed the victim’s residence had its gate ajar, prompting immediate security concern.
A swift check confirmed that Barrister Yusuf Musa was missing, along with his GMC vehicle, with registration number KUJ 88 PA, raising strong suspicions of a coordinated abduction.
In response, the Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, has activated a comprehensive tactical operation.
Security divisions across Akwanga, Andaha, Garaku, Kadarko and other parts of the state have been alerted, while surveillance teams have been deployed along strategic routes to track and intercept the suspects.
The police boss assured that an intensive manhunt is ongoing, reaffirming the command’s commitment to securing the victim’s safe rescue and bringing the perpetrators to justice.
The Nasarawa State Police Command has also urged the public to stay calm and vigilant, while appealing to anyone with relevant information to contact the nearest police station or call the command’s emergency hotlines.
