From Anfield to Allianz: Luis Díaz seals Bayern transfer

Colombian forward Luis Diaz has completed a permanent transfer to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, ending a successful three-and-a-half-year stint with Liverpool FC.
Diaz, who joined Liverpool from FC Porto in early 2022, made an immediate impression with his explosive pace, creativity, and goal contributions, becoming an integral part of Jürgen Klopp’s attacking unit.
During his time at Anfield, he helped the Reds to four major trophies, including last season’s Premier League title triumph.
In his debut half-season, Diaz racked up six goals and four assists in 26 appearances, playing a key role as Liverpool won the Carabao Cup and FA Cup, both secured via penalty shootouts against Chelsea.
He also featured in the UEFA Champions League final in Paris, where Liverpool fell to Real Madrid.
A knee injury disrupted his 2022-23 campaign, but Diaz returned strongly, switching to the iconic No. 7 shirt and recapturing his top form under Klopp and later Arne Slot.
He played 101 matches over the next two seasons, scoring 30 goals and providing 10 assists.
Diaz’s final season was his most prolific in a Liverpool shirt, netting 17 times across competitions, including 13 in the Premier League.
Highlights included a brace at Old Trafford and a Champions League hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen, as Liverpool secured the league title with four games to spare.
Under new boss Slot, Diaz also adapted to a more central attacking role, showcasing his versatility and further cementing his value in Liverpool’s frontline.
With the move to Bayern Munich, Diaz begins a new chapter in the Bundesliga.
