The Federal Government has granted approval for Tazkiyah University, the first female-only university in Nigeria, established by Professor Ibrahim Maqari, Chief Imam of the National Mosque, Abuja.

Located in Zaria, Kaduna State, the institution is exclusively designed for women and could also operate with an all-female academic workforce, making it a pioneering development in the country’s education sector.

Prof. Maqari explained that all profits from the university will be directed into a fund aimed at supporting orphans.

Tazkiyah University is among nine newly licensed private universities approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC), with plans already underway to relocate its permanent campus to Kaduna city in the future.
