Ex-Nigerian coach Sunday Oliseh loses brother to Malaria

The Cosmas Oliseh family has announced the death of Uche Levi Oliseh, who passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at the age of 51 after a brief illness.

Uche was known as a warm, vibrant, and kind-hearted individual, cherished deeply by his loved ones.

He is survived by his parents, four children, and siblings, including former Nigerian international footballer and Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, and Churchill Oliseh.

Confirming the loss in an emotional social media post, Sunday Oliseh revealed that his brother died following a short battle with malaria.

“It hurts so bad, like I have never felt before,” he wrote. “I have over a million things that I would wanna talk, laugh and do with Uche, but sadly I cannot anymore.”

The family has asked for continued prayers and support during this difficult period, while stating that details about the funeral will be shared in due time.
