Sen. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan was briefly held by immigration officers at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Thursday while attempting to board a flight to the United Kingdom.

The lawmaker representing Kogi Central was reportedly traveling with her husband to attend her stepson’s graduation when she was stopped by officials.

According to sources, immigration personnel informed her that her name had appeared on a security watchlist, which temporarily restricted her from proceeding with the trip.

After undergoing questioning for a few minutes, she was cleared and eventually allowed to continue with her travel plans.

The specific reason for her inclusion on the watchlist has not been disclosed at the time of this report.

This incident comes amid an ongoing standoff between the senator and the Senate leadership.

Akpoti-Uduaghan has been contesting her recent suspension from the Senate, which followed her vocal protest against a change in her assigned seating position.

She also recently accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment, an allegation he has since denied.
