Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has dissolved the state’s executive council, effectively ending the tenure of all commissioners.

The announcement was made on Wednesday by Tersoo Kula, Chief Press Secretary to the governor, following the conclusion of the 12th executive council meeting.

In a related development, the governor appointed Moses Atagher, the former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, as his new Chief of Staff.

Governor Alia extended his appreciation to the outgoing commissioners for their dedication and two years of service, urging those not reappointed to remain committed to the party’s ideals and continue playing active roles in the development of the state.

Kula noted that the dissolution affects only the commissioners, while the appointment of Atagher as Chief of Staff stands as a fresh administrative decision.
