Abdulkadir Bello, The 16th Emir of Gusau

Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has approved the appointment of Abdulkadir Bello as the 16th Emir of Gusau, following the death of his father, Dr Ibrahim Bello, who passed away on July 25, 2025.

The announcement was made by the Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Nakwada, who explained that the appointment was based on the recommendation of the Gusau Emirate kingmakers and in line with long-standing customs and applicable laws.

Abdulkadir Bello, the eldest son of the late Emir, previously held the traditional title of Bunun Gusau before his elevation.

In a congratulatory message, Governor Lawal urged the new monarch to sustain the noble legacy of his late father and uphold the values of their lineage, being a direct descendant of Malam Sambo Dan Ashafa.

The governor encouraged the Emir to champion unity, peace, and progress within the Gusau Emirate, fostering a spirit of harmonious coexistence among the people.
