Islam Is Peace: Sultan of Sokoto addresses World Leaders in England

The Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has called for unity and dialogue among nations as vital tools for achieving global peace.
Speaking at a two-day international summit held at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS) in England, the Sultan urged people around the world, particularly in Africa, to uphold peace and engage in dialogue to foster social harmony and peaceful co-existence.
“Citizens of the world in general and Africa in particular must embrace peace and dialogue at all times. It should be our guiding principle, as Islam remains a religion of peace,” the Sultan said, according to a statement issued Friday by a member of his delegation, Danladi Bako.

The summit also marked the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the OCIS. His Eminence was accompanied to England by his Sarkin Fada, Kabir Tafida.
The event featured the annual general meeting of the OCIS Board of Trustees and was officially opened by the Centre’s Grand Patron, King Charles III.
It was attended by several high-profile dignitaries, including former Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Saudi Prince Turki Al Faisal, and Sultan Nazrin San of Malaysia, who all serve as members of the board alongside the Sultan of Sokoto.
The Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, established in 1985, focuses on promoting interfaith dialogue, Islamic scholarship, Islamic finance, environmental concerns, and youth development among Muslims in the UK and beyond.
