The Federal Government has announced the temporary suspension of the online recruitment portal for paramilitary agencies, just two days after it was officially launched.

The portal, managed by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), oversees recruitment into key agencies such as the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Fire Service (NFS), and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS).

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the Board’s Secretary, A.M. Jubril, the suspension is aimed at enhancing the system’s efficiency and ensuring a seamless recruitment process.

The statement read in part: “As part of effort to optimise the efficiency of its system, the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) announces that the portal (recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng) dedicated for the recruitment into its paramilitary agencies has been temporarily suspended.”

It further stated that the portal would reopen on Monday, July 21, 2025, after necessary upgrades are completed to accommodate the high volume of applications.

The Board appreciated the overwhelming interest shown by young Nigerians and assured applicants of a smooth, transparent, and fair recruitment process once the portal is back online.

“The portal will be available again from Monday, July 21st, 2025.

“This development will ensure that the portal accommodates the high volume of applications while guaranteeing a smooth, transparent, and fair recruitment process.

“We appreciate the enthusiasm and interest of young Nigerians to serve their country through these vital agencies and are committed to ensuring a fair and transparent recruitment process.”
