‘Our Brother Is Gone’: David Kaff’s bandmates announce his passing at 79
Renowned American musician and actor, David Kaff, has been confirmed dead at the age of 79.
Kaff, widely recognised for his memorable role as keyboardist Viv Savage in the classic 1984 mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap, reportedly passed away in his sleep.
The sad news was announced by his former bandmates from ‘Mutual of Alameda’s Wild Kingdom’ through a Facebook post.
The message read: “Our brother David Kaffinetti peacefully passed away in his sleep yesterday. We are devastated by this event. RIP dear brother.”
Following his breakout performance in This Is Spinal Tap, Kaff remained active in the entertainment scene, joining Spinal Tap for various live appearances, including a guest performance on Saturday Night Live, before eventually moving on to other musical collaborations.
