Regional stability tops agenda as ECOWAS shines at Defence Chiefs Summit in Abuja

The ECOWAS Commission has reiterated its dedication to regional peace and stability during the African Chiefs of Defence Staff Summit held in Abuja from August 25 to 27, 2025.

At the summit, the Commission showcased an exhibition featuring a variety of its publications, which outlined its work in conflict prevention, curbing the spread of small arms, promoting democratic governance, and advancing the women, peace, and security agenda.

The exhibition further emphasized ECOWAS’ wider programmes designed to strengthen peace, stability, and development across the West African region.
