The Dangote Refinery has increased the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, from N820 to N850 per litre.

This was confirmed on Friday by Abubakar Maigandi, National President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), during an interview.

The N30 rise in the ex-depot price may lead to higher pump prices across Nigeria, depending on distribution costs and logistics.

“The new ex-depot price of petrol at the refinery is N850 per litre,” Maigandi stated.

He also confirmed that the refinery has resumed petrol sales following a suspension last week.

This means petroleum marketers and retailers will now pay more to obtain petrol from the 650,000-barrel-per-day refinery.

Earlier, between last weekend and Monday, some petroleum marketers, including the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, increased pump prices to N955 per litre in Abuja before reducing them to N900.

Currently, filling stations such as Ranoil, AA Rano, and Empire Energy are selling petrol between N950 and N955 per litre in Abuja.
