9mobile transforms into T2 with focus on innovation

Nigeria’s fourth-largest telecom operator, 9mobile, has unveiled a new brand identity called T2 as part of its efforts to revitalize its market presence and sharpen its digital focus.
The announcement was made by CEO Obafemi Banigbe during the brand launch event held in Lagos on Friday.
Banigbe described the T2 brand as the beginning of a new chapter for the company, highlighting its commitment to bold innovation, digital transformation, and a customer-first philosophy.
He explained that 9mobile is evolving from a traditional telecom provider into a digital lifestyle enabler across various sectors.
The transformation will position 9mobile as a cloud-native, data-driven, and API-ready operator, capable of delivering smarter, more personalized services quickly.
Banigbe emphasized that going digital means empowering customers with advanced tools and platforms that improve their everyday lives by offering convenience and greater control through technology.
He further stated that the T2 identity represents agility, resilience, and boldness, traits essential for success in today’s competitive telecom market.
Reflecting on past difficulties, Banigbe said the company’s resurgence is built on hard-earned lessons and determination, returning stronger and more focused.
He thanked customers, shareholders, regulators, and partners for their unwavering support during challenging times and reaffirmed 9mobile’s commitment to delivering value, innovation, and relevance.
“We are not playing catch-up. We are playing to win,” Banigbe concluded.
