As the All Progressives Congress (APC) prepares for its nationwide electronic membership registration, three members of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), led by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, have carried out an inspection of the party’s data centre at its national secretariat in Abuja.

Daily Watch Nigeria reports that the visit, which took place on Tuesday, included Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

The governors expressed satisfaction with the preparations for the e-registration exercise and reiterated the party’s growing technological strength and unity.

Speaking to journalists after the inspection, PGF Chairman Uzodimma said, “We came to monitor and evaluate the extent of the e-registration exercise.”

“We have inspected and conducted a trip around the facilities, and we are highly impressed with what we saw. We are confident that any moment from now, our e-registration will start in full force.”

Responding to questions about the new national secretariat for the party as directed by President Bola Tinubu, Uzodimma simply stated that “work is in progress.”

On the recent appointment of Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda as APC National Chairman, Uzodimma expressed strong optimism: “Look at him here, handsome, tall, full of energy and intelligence. Our party is very excited and happy with the choice. We are confident that this is what we’ve been looking for.”

Addressing criticism from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), which claimed it would be disastrous for APC to retain power in the next elections, the Imo governor dismissed the said: “You called it a claim, it is their claim, not ours. I know there are only two parties in Nigeria: the All Progressives Congress and Others.”

In his remarks, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda commended the close relationship between the party’s leadership and the Progressive Governors Forum, describing it as a model for party cohesion and democratic practice.

“Our relationship with the PGF is very cordial. We are exemplary in the way we conduct ourselves in NEC, in how governors relate with the party, and in how members at all levels engage,” he said.

Yilwatda emphasised the party’s dedication to using technology to strengthen operations and member engagement.

“We want to deepen our base in every state and use digital tools to know and support our members.”

“This e-registration will help us with research and allow us to predict our support base accurately,” he added.
