As preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections, Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, has appealed to former lawmakers from northern Nigeria to rally behind the president’s re-election ambition.

Speaking during a dialogue session held in Abuja, Gbajabiamila praised Tinubu as a national leader who has consistently ensured inclusivity and carried every region along in governance.

“President Tinubu is not just a southern leader; he is a national leader who has carried every region along,” Gbajabiamila stated.

He pointed to numerous developmental projects across northern Nigeria, including ongoing road constructions, rail expansions, and agricultural revitalisation programmes, as proof of the administration’s commitment to balanced national development.

Gbajabiamila stressed that the nation’s growth rests on unity and continuity, urging stakeholders to allow Tinubu to complete the agenda his government has started.

“We are laying solid foundations today, and it is only right that the president is allowed to finish what he started,” he said.

He added that the north is already reaping the benefits of Tinubu’s leadership through key reforms and infrastructural development.

“From critical infrastructure to policy reforms, the north is benefitting from a government that believes in equity and shared prosperity,” he said.
